This is the story of a young man who struggles with self-harm. His name? Jake. 
Jake is 17 years old and he's been in and out of hospitals since he was 11. He's struggled with his mental health ever since his parents divorced and, shortly after, died. He struggles with drugs and alcohol and is constantly on the brink of death. He doesn't realize he has something to live for until he meets Whatshisface.
