A Shift in Nature

In the forest, where humans dare not roam, lived creatures.
These creatures, which humans have deemed non-existent, have lived unseen in the forest since it was just saplings and young trees.
Vampires rule the night.
Werewolves stalk the day.
Fairies flutter at noon.
And the rarest of creatures, Shapeshifters, were banished to live at sunset.
The Shapeshifters were dying.
Only one group, of only five, remained.
The other creatures, driven by jealousy, were trying to rid the world of these beautiful creatures.
They were jealous of the Shapeshifters power. The power to take the form of any living creature.
And the destruction of Shapeshifters were causing an awful thing to happen.
It was causing a shift in nature. Earthquakes, tornadoes, storms were raining down, and humans were clueless about the cause.

And nobody could stop it.

Or could they?
