Spencer Abrahams hasn't had an easy life, she has suffered many losses, and struggled with her weight and body image. When she finally begins to find confidence, her family moves from Alberta, Canada, to sunny Tampa, Florida. Due to past occurrences, her father thinks it would be a good idea to move on and start a new happy life. But some things are hard to cope with, and Spencer goes through many struggles. At her new school, Spencer meets Peyton, the typical cliche high school popular guy, captain of the football team. They become closer, and their love flourishes.
