The Shadow of the World is the first episode of Sand, a gritty &quot;Dark Knight&quot; meets &quot;Memento&quot; superhero series, and the prequel to the novel Children of the Plague.

I saw this WP on Reddit, and I had a lightbulb moment. Since the age of 14, you've noticed a monster stalking you. A few years later, you've noticed it seems very protective over you and will go through extreme measures to protect you. It's usually friendly, but it seems threatening when your childhood friend is around. I changed "Monster" to a shadow, but is it a shadow really?
