Differents (rewrite)

Haven't you ever felt different? Like your head stuck out like a sore thumb? And no one else seemed to understand you? You must be a different. Like me. My name is Jessica. I grew up knowing that I was special. No one else smiled like me... Or smiled at all. They walked in an array while I was in my own free circle. I had a friend just like me. Her name was Rachel.
You see I say Rachel WAS her name because she.. She. Well she couldn't take it. She didn't want to be different. But honestly it's a gift. We, the differents live in Odessa. And this is the story of how I got here, and more. We are the differents. And we write history.
