Drifting into darkness

I'm drifting away from reality
Slowly, sinking further into the
Unknown darkness beyond
the unimaginable
My worst fear, and yet
My greatest desire
The place after this life,
Wherever that may be
I'm no longer here
Physically my body remains in
this meaningless netherland
But the rest of me, my soul,
Lies in an alternate reality
One which no one knows of,
not even myself
I'm off balance
One foot on either edge
Light or dark?
Dark or light?
I'm drifting to the dark side
I'm not in control
Why am I at all stuck, where
the sun is blinding and
the life is my worst enemy?
What is holding me back
from leaping across the void to the
dark, and just letting go?
The darkness is pulling me closer
I’m almost there
Suddenly the light grabs me
There’s a hold on each of my arms
I don’t know what direction to give in to
They're both so strong
Would the darkness really be
any better than light?
Or vise versa?
I can’t hold on much longer
I don’t know how,
but I have to choose
Light or dark?
Dark or light?
