"You truly are quite observant." he continued. "Quite the credit to most of your kind." It's true, most magical critics were ultimately failures. There is usually that one trick that could not be explained, thus ending the pursuit of answers. Many critics have hit this line, and have ended up falling into the mind numbed crowd, believing these illusions to be true "magic." I, however, have yet to be stumped. "I have enough brain to know truth," I responded, "the truth of the nonexistence of magic." "You believe that to be true?" he questioned. "You're going to be our hero, Juniper." "I don't want to be your hero." "I know that. Trust me I do. But you're the key to saving us. I didn't lie about that." "Save yourselves." Juniper doesn't believe in magic. How could she? A world with magic wouldn't have taken her brother and father's life last winter. However, after moving to a small town in Washington, she finds a mirror left in her new house that has the ability to be her escape if she believes in it. Juniper meets Q, the keeper of the mirror with many secrets, who enlists her on her own hero's journey to save the lives of millions of people. She has two choices, to believe the boy who speaks in riddles or to ignore the existence of the mirror. She reluctantly embarks on a journey with the mysterious Q and faces the evil forces that are bringing the mirror to an end.
