The small town of Lelinda, in rural Kansas, is quiet and well-mannered. Nothing interesting ever happens here. Everybody knows everyone else. The only apparent problem is the two-year drought that won't go away.
But 12 year-old Ashley Taylor can see what nobody else can see. Silent and forgotten, she watches her home-town, as it crumbles around her, while trying to keep from drowning beneath the chaos of her mind.
But problems can only stay hidden for so long. And this fall, the town of Lelinda will finally realize just how little they can take.
