He paused, lips curling into a smile against my skin. "Can't this be romantic?"

"Romantic?" I snorted. "You're paying me to drink my blood. Enough with the foreplay, Maximus. Stop playing with your food."

"No reason why we can't be more." His stare locked onto mine.

As day light turns to dusk, the creatures of the night come out to play. Lexii is struggling to cope. Though she's made many attempts at a normal lifestyle, in the end she always winds up caught in some form of supernatural trouble.
