The year is 2025. A lot of things have changed over the years. Over the summer of 2016 the economy crashed horribly. Many families were devastated. About a year after everything went to hell is when things started happening. Children began to disappear. Without so many mouths to feed some families could stand on their own feet again. The gov blamed the disappearances on them running away or kidnappers. Not knowing what to believe; many just went along with it. My family was one of the lucky ones. With only one child we didn't have to struggle as much. Little did I know everything was about to change....

Vitium Cavum. Or, the better known 'Hollow Disease'. Five years ago, in an alternate universe, scientists were on the verge of creating the immortality drug. Only, somehow, it escaped in the early stages of development, when everyone was working to rid of all the negative side effects. Those 'side effects' practically rip a person's soul away from them. Hence the name 'Hollow' Disease, because this virus makes whoever is affected an empty shell with no soul. Now, only a handful of people around the world are currently unaffected by this disease. Some of them had their families torn apart, some lost their friends, and some lost the person they were in love with. And that's where our story begins; in the year 2019, five years after Hollow Disease nearly destroyed the entire world. I never believed it would end like this. I was just watching Netflix when the power went out, then before I knew it everyone was screaming, then the school began to shake and fell to the ground. Only three kids in my entire school were spared, four if you count me. I found a group of people heading to the east coast for a boat trip to a supposed safe haven in India. They died of disease days later. I found their bodies by the river. But I guess this is my life now, surviving with a scared boy, a pair of twins and trying to make it to the next day.
