Vanessa has always felt out of place in her life...maybe it's the fact that she's living in an apartment with her over worked over stressed dad instead of a mansion, or that she is invisible to everyone at school, or it could be the fact that she is one of the few that can see and talk to ghosts..... Vanessa has always been a loner, never had friends except for her ferret and dog, until she meets Damien.... Damien is the type to be hanging out with the cheerleaders and football stars.... So why is he so intrigued by Vanessa? He is instantly pulled into the 'in' crowd, where all he does is sit and watch Vanessa. He doesn't play football or any sport for that matter yet he continues to stay in the 'in' crowd. Is it for a reason? Does he know what she can do? What does he want from her? Vanessa can feel his eyes on her, can feel the intensity of his gaze, like he is trying to read her. Finally the day comes when he talks to her, hanging out with her whenever he can, and she gets the sense he is hiding something from her. But what? When she meets Jesse, a teen ghost who died trying to protect his friend, she has to find out the reason he is there following her around, when she tries to talk to him he does nothing but just stare at her. She tries everything to get him to talk yet he won't do it he just stares, until the day he points at something behind her, a person, a boy, Damien.... Vanessa digs up things she wishes would have stayed buried in the depths of her mind and his. Damien shows her the true meaning of what a friend is... what it's like to be cared for. Yet she doesn't know what his roll with Jesse is... will she find out the truth or what she thinks is the truth.... What will happen when she finds out the reason Jesse came back, or why he wants Damien? And what does Damien want with Vanessa?
