Jess is the new girl at Lexington High School with a vague, dark backstory and is quite the artist. Jeff, on the other hand is your average, teenage boy who is pretty much prone to "gamer rage". When these two meet, Jeff notices that both of Jess's forearms are bandaged up and that she goes through depression. Jeff also comes up with a nickname for Jess...Violet because of the streak in her jet-black hair. Jess hates the nickname at first, but as these two develop a stronger friendship the name grows on her. As the school year goes on Jess's depression gets worse, and she starts to isolate herself for Jeff. For several months, Jeff sees Jess walking into class with more and more bandages. Will Jeff be able to figure out what's going on with Jess and save her before it's too late? Or will she become the girl with painted wings....
