In silence her world stood unknown. She sat in her ripped pale blue shorts and the oversized shirt she managed to pull over her head without brushing it past any of her fresh scars. The rain pounded against the window with an irregular rhythm that felt soothing to her mind. She wasn’t alone. She had the rain. In an instant she found herself curled up against the side of her bed and breathing rapidly. The wooded frame of the bed scrapped her back gently but she didn’t bother moving from the uncomfortable state she was in.
There’s no point in her mind.
In her mind, even the rain wasn’t enough like it used to be.
