I took a breath and quickly wiped a stray tear from my eye, "I'm tired of living in their shadows, waiting for them to finally realize that I still exist. I tell myself to be strong, to ignore the pain that they cause me, but I can't. I love them. I love them and they don't love me."

His face softened as he put a hand on my cheek and rubbed away another tear. I gave him a helpless shrug, "When will it be my turn for a happy ending?"

*********

Everybody knows the story.
Peter Pan flew to the nursery window of Wendy, John, and Michael Darling and took them all to Neverland where they had marvellous adventures filled with flying children, evil pirates, and mischievous mermaids. Most would call it a classic.

But there is nothing classic about this tale.

Little do story tellers know, there was a fourth Darling child who lived in the nursery.
Ophelia Darling was seemingly forgotten when her siblings flew to Neverland, and now she's more alone than ever. Her siblings have shared an experience and made memories that she will never be able to compete with.
Ophelia decides that there is nothing more vile in the world than the boy named Peter Pan, who stole her siblings from her.
Join Ophelia Darling as she fights her way back into her siblings lives, and somewhere in the process, discovers that life is nothing like the way stories say it is. It's much more complicated.

(A Twist On Peter Pan) “I’ll kill you, you hear me? I’ll kill you!” My face was red as I fought against the ropes that bound me to one of the masts. “I’d like to see you try Alison, because you’ll fail. Peter has failed, and look at him now.” He gestured to Peter, who was on his knees and was getting punched and kicked repeatedly by a large group of pirates. “And why don’t we watch your precious Will.” He grabbed my chin and forced me to look at Will, who was suffering the same fate as Peter. “Oh and don’t forget about your dear little Lost Boys.” I heard a scream and looked at Aaron, who was being hit by a man three times his size. “Stop! He’s just a little boy, please. You have me, you have Will and even Peter; we’re whom you want. Just let them go, you’ve won.” I sighed as the wicked man grinned at me. “Very brave Alison, very brave indeed. Well men, she said let the boys go, so let them go!” He said and I went pale as I realized what I had done. “No! Stop!” I screamed but it was too late. I watched with tears in my eyes as a pirate picked up Aaron and set him on the plank. I started to thrash around in the ropes, and felt them loosen a little bit. Come on! “I never liked children.” Hook said absentmindedly as Aaron started to cry, and looked at me, and I smiled at him. “Think of the stars Aaron, think of the stars.” I whispered as his scream rang out through the boat, just as I broke through the ropes and attacked. The shadowy figure at her window would normally have been disconcerting. But something about the uncertainty that would come with the sunrise left Marigold more curious than concerned. Tomorrow she would be a legal adult. She would be turned out to find her own way, without the government protections she had leaned on her whole life. Perhaps it was the fear of the unknown adult world that caused her to open the window for the figure. Perhaps it was that nagging curiosity. Regardless of the motivation and without much forethought, she allowed herself to slip out of bed, pad to the window, and unlatch the lock... Marigold may be becoming an adult by legal standards, but the uncertainty of what that means for her future becomes irrelevant as she finds herself in Neverland with Pan his Lost Boys. Having faked his death to escape the heroes of Storybrooke after his failed attempt to steal the heart of the Truest Believer, Pan returned to Neverland to find that a multitude of pirates have dropped anchor. In his absence, word spread among the looters that Neverland and her many treasures lay unprotected. After just a few skirmishes, it became clear that Pan needed a larger group of Lost Boys to aid in the pirate extermination effort. --- What?? A OUAT Peter Pan fic in 2023? Crazy I know. But you know, sometimes you just have to come back to Wattpad and write the fanfic you never wrote in high school. Let's just call it healing for my inner teenager. *OUAT spoiler and backstory disclaimer: Pan is NOT Malcolm (Rumple's father) in this story. That fact is just blatantly ignored here. That plotline is just not the vibe, and honestly never was.

A New Generation of Pan

24 parts Complete

Book One of Pan of Never Duology Have you ever wondered what came after Wendy and the other Darlings? What of all the other children Peter has visited over the years? Surely, there are many. I would find it very hard to believe that the ever-playful Peter Pan would not spread his legacy on to a new generation of believers. Where would the world be if children did not believe in silly fairy tales such as Peter Pan? Gwen and her sister have heard the tales of Peter Pan since they were tiny children. Never had they gave a single thought that he or the whole of Neverland, might actually exist. He had always been a figment of imagination. A pastime for children. They thought wrong. When Gwen and Wendi are kidnapped in the dead of night, who is going to save them from the Neverland pirates and the dangerously attractive captain leading them? When Gwen is stuck between the playful rogue and the handsome pirate, the hero and the villain will clash in a battle of wills bigger than either thought possible. And in the end, good always triumphs over evil. Right? Will the boy who never grew up stand a chance with the girl who never saw him coming? **The Token Awards 2017 Third Place Winner! ** **A WattNeverland Account Featured Story. ** The beautiful cover is made by the amazing @ryuwelp00 !!
