It's been 8 years since the flare hit; there's no internet, no electronics, or running water. The flare has wreaked havoc producing a post-apocalyptic world that killed many and spared only a few. Living in 2022, Ian deals with obstacles that only a strong, enduring person could handle, while maintaining an exuberant personality. Kate, his companion for most of his life, aids as a trustworthy friend that most people would want during a time of need.
