A typical high school story about an atypical high school student.
Ryan Ross hates his life. Not in the average oh-em-gee-my-parents-r-so-mean-2-me11!! way most teenagers do. No, Ryan hated his life in a my-mother-left-me-and-my-father's-an-alcoholic way. All he wants to do is get out of high school, leave this shitty Chicago suburb, and live in a place that doesn't smell like cheap liquor and sadness.
His plan to achieve this is simple: focus on his studies and don't get distracted. Ryan doesn't need friends (well, besides Spencer, but Spencer is a special case).
This goes swimmingly until Brendon Urie, a new student from Las Vegas, tumbles into his life with his big smiles and lively brown eyes. Ryan hates him instantly, but Brendon doesn't get the message.
Maybe Ryan doesn't hate Brendon as much as he wants to.
