On a warm night in June of 1990, Sister Belinda of St. Nicholas Church off the coast of Brighton in a small village called Saltdean, was woken to a surprise on the doorstep. A child by the name of Sylvia. The Nuns took in the girl, and there she was raised in the Church along with seven other girls and of course the sisters. It's been seventeen years since Sister Belinda found Sylvia upon the kitchens door-step and Sylvia, who doesn't even know her birthday let alone her last name, is getting frustrated by her lack of answers. So Sylvia sets out from the Church in the dead of night to find the answers to her questions. Who is her mother? Why did she leave her at the Church just weeks after her birth? What kind of a person could do that?

As Sylvia tries to find answers to her questions, she discovers things that shouldn't be possible and she meets a string of dangerous and intriguing people along the way. Will Sylvia find the answers to her questions, or will she return to the only home she has ever known to live out her life with the sisters?

A mysterious castaway. A Scottish hero determined to protect her. Can they survive the storm? Cast adrift on the Indian Ocean, Maria carries a terrible secret. Wherever she goes, death soon follows, and she's powerless to prevent it. William McGregor boarded the SS Trevessa in search of adventure, but he gets more than he bargained for when he saves the mysterious Maria from the sea. She can't tell them her tragic tale, so the superstitious sailors make up their own stories - and some would sacrifice her to the waves to save themselves from the coming storm. When the sharks start circling and the storm closes in, are sirens more than just a myth? A tiny taste of what's in store: My defiance was futile. What did it get me? A small raft drifting across the Indian Ocean, with nothing but the sound of waves and the smell of salt and coal-smoke. Smoke meant a ship. I was saved. I squinted into the sunlight, but the waves hid the vessel from me. Maybe I was looking the wrong way. I didn't have the strength to sit up and see. Rough hands seized me. I struggled, but my weakness won. Blue eyes drifted above, the same colour as the ocean below. A tangle of wiry seaweed obscured the rest of the man's face. "It's all right, lass. I'll take care of you." Darkness took me first. This book has been published and is available wherever you buy good ebooks. Copyright © Jenna Cook 2014 All Rights Reserved EXCERPT: They scraped at my mind as gravity took hold. But no fear passed through me. I wanted to fall, the blue rushed towards me like a welcome embrace as I passed through the barrier. And suddenly, silence. No, not silence. Music. The ocean wrapped around me, chasing away the demons. Eliminating all the worries of the world. Until just me, and the sea remained. All the weight of the world was carried away on the tide as I sank into the blue. The rising sun filtered down through the water like a rainbow after rain. Now most people would be worried right now. Realising they're out of breath and dying. But it's part of the reason I keep to myself, let people think I'm not normal. Because I'm not normal. I'm just even more not normal than they fathomed. -------------- Completed! But slowly editing Thank you for reading! If you like it please remember to vote and comment!
