Darkness engulfed the far side of the corridor -- normal as it seems, but something lurks within its corner. Something deformed, wicked -- impious feinds that are driven by lust and glutton. The very wall that stood, lies secrets that lingered for decades. The very floor that lay were lives laid to waste. The very windows that displayed are eyes for the insiders to see the developing world they were left behind. And the very front door was where they welcomed the evil that disguised like an angel. It will also be the very front door where they will welcome five young strangers, lost from their little road trip. Unbeknownst to these strangers; a whisper, a warning, secretly tells them this: "Beware of the Heathcote Manor." -------- Lovely, lovely cover by @Go_Figure. Thank you so much!

"Oh, go on..." it growled, its twisted smile growing wider. "What is it you mortals say? Oh, yes... I dare you..." * * * When Lewis, the strange, new kid arrives at Fading Hope School, Max and Kris can't wait to invite him to join the Dare Doer's Club. They dare him to spend a night in Dreadgrave Manor, a haunted house once home to the infamous Count Montgomery Dreadgrave and rumoured to have been the location of a bloody massacre almost a century before. But then Lewis goes missing in the manor, and Max and Kris are forced to venture inside. How is Dreadgrave Manor linked to the town's dark history of children disappearing in Fading Hope? What terrifying secrets lie within its cursed walls? Worst of all, as night falls, why won't the dead stay dead? Soon, they'll realise it's a race against time to save not only Lewis but themselves as well. Can they break the curse of Dreadgrave Manor and survive until the morning? Or will they be trapped... forever?
