After Eren is expelled from his high school near the beginning of his sophomore year, he is forced to attend different school which just so happens to be one that has a bad reputation. The bad reputation of that school is thanks to the high number of delinquents and low grades at the school. Since he technically is a delinquent himself, it doesn't matter to him. What does matter, however, is how the school appears to have a leader ruling over the delinquents just like his. He hears that the "leader" is a *girl* named Mikasa.
