Aleanna always thought she was just a seamstress living in a small town south of Erebor. But when Thorin Oakenshield sweeps through town searching for work after Erebor's fall, she knows it's not the first time she's seen him. Nor would it be her last.

***This story was inspired by the scenes of young Thorin working as a smith in the towns of men. It takes place shortly after the dwarves' exile from Erebor, as they journey south through the Wilderlands east of Mirkwood then westward to Dunland.

What happens when an assassin who's heart isn't in it - or is a little TOO in it - is sent to take the life of Thorin Oakenshield? Will she go through with her assignment? Or will she find herself incapable of doing what she needs to do to save those she cares for? One thing's for certain, (Y/N) is on one slippery slope! *For the record, I most definitely don't own The Hobbit or it's characters. The credit for all that awesomeness goes to J.R.R Tolkien and Peter Jackson. As for (Y/N), her backstory belongs to me, but she belongs to you!* Just so you all know, although this is a character x reader story, our little romance won't really show many signs of appearing in the beginning, so be prepared to read a fairly large amount of build-up before our love story truly begins. And, for the sake of the fic, we're gonna say Thorin is 103 and (Y/N) is 100 in the first chapter. Remember, (Y/N) is a skin-changer, and based on the 'research' I've done on the topic, skin-changers have lifespans relatively longer than those of average humans, and since no one ever really specified the exacts, I'll do what I wish with them. For the sake of the story, we'll say skin-changer lifespan can vary; some can live to be 500, others may just live to 100. AND for the sake of the fic, we'll say (Y/N) will live to be somewhere near the middle. Don't worry though, she definitely doesn't look old. And for the record, yes I get that Thorin's age in this doesn't really take into account the falling of Erebor and his presence in it, but lets just say that all of those happenings were a little more recent. BAM! (Also, if you are reading this fanfiction and like it, it would be very helpful if you shared it with other people! But don't feel required to or anything; you guys just reading my work is enough. =D) (ALSO also, if you do like this fanfiction, feel free to vote on it or comment. If you don't, I'm perfectly open to constructive criticism, but please no rude comments.)

A Rings of Power ~ Adar Fanfic. In a world where light and darkness coil together like serpents on the edge of a knife, three hearts beat in an uneasy rhythm-one scarred by betrayal, one bound by ancient light, and the third, a healer lost in the ruins of her past, driven by vengeance. Adar, a fallen elf twisted by the hands of fate, had once longed for nothing more than to be a father. But now, the orcs-the distorted echoes of his lost dream-are the only children he will ever know. His skin, now grey as the ash left in his wake, bears the scars of torment and betrayal. He feels responsible for the creatures born from his torment, his twisted children, and will stop at nothing to free them from Sauron's grip. But even the shadows have chains of their own, and redemption comes with a price. By his side walks a healer, a woman haunted by the destruction of her people. With power locked deep within her, she craves vengeance yet finds herself bound to a journey that will test her very soul. Their path leads to Eryndra, an ancient fae queen, bound to a sacred forest. Her luminous beauty hides a deeper, more dangerous intent, and she holds the key to everything Adar seeks. But her price may be more than any of them can pay. As hearts clash and secrets unravel, the lines between duty, love, and betrayal blur. In the coming storm, only one truth remains: no one will emerge unscathed.
