Earth population is too big. Supplies are being used up faster than they can be made. We can't live any longer. We have to reduce the population. 

The government orders the release of Blaze. Blaze is a man-made virus that kills the human within a few days, giving it time to spread. But the visual has spread beyond control. The government has fallen due to the virus. Surviving politics have created PASD (Post-Apocalyptic Survival Department) to find a cure. 

Mark, Jake and Jemma all live in Chicago. But when they discover that PASD doesn't plan to make a cure, but to make a stronger version of Blaze to reduce the population again (it has increased again), they set out to find Hazard, a rumoured rebel group to PASD located in the U.K.
