Emery longs to find his mate. He's looked in all the obvious places and he's even tried waiting for his mate to find him. It's been no use. So he decides to follow the vampire, Casper home to his coven.
Casper is convinced that Emery is addicted to the pleasure of a vampire's bite but Emery doesn't believe that. He can stop feeding the vampire's in the coven any time he wants to. He just doesn't want to. The vampires in this coven are smoking hot, both male and female alike and Emery is enjoying the perks of being their meal.
David has never come across a more stubborn shifter in his life. Emery is blind to his condition and refuses to listen to anyone who tries to help him, including David. He won't even believe David when he tells the little wolf that they are mates.
David cannot help someone if they are not willing to take that offered help and he can't stand by and watch his mate refusing him while continuing to feed the entire coven. He takes the first assignment he's offered that will take him away from Emery and his problems for over a month. But he wasn't counting on the council sending the little shifter with him as a cover.
