What if the world suddenly "ended"?
Not like a Zombie Apocalypse or Global Extinction.
More like the Earth turns against humanity:
The water stops being drinkable.
The soil stops making edible seeds.
The factories run out of materials to produce products.
And the air stops being breathable.
But...
What if you were the only one who could drink water from the tap?
What if you were the only one who could eat the crops from the soil?
What if you were the only one who could breathe without a gas mask?
What if you were the only one who could actually live in this new world?
What if everyone leaves to a "better place" and leave you all alone because, unlike them, you can live on Earth?
What would you do?
Would you be scared?
Would you kill yourself?
Would you try to survive?
Let's see what Audrey does...

"We're all test subjects," Reese answered. "We were able to escape the system after receiving the cure though. All of us ended up with memory-erasing abilities which is one of the very few abilities that allows you to get out unnoticed." I blinked. Memory erasing? What the heck was she talking about? "Back up a second," I tried to keep my tone even and not let on to the whirlwind of emotions flaring up inside me. "How did you end up with magical abilities?" "They aren't magic dumbass," Micaiah scorned. "The whole reason they created the disease was survival of the fittest, as Skye mentioned. They're purposefully making the weak minorities sick to kill them off while they take the strongest young men and women to 'test' on, when really, they're just purposefully giving us the disease and then the cure. The cure is meant to 'over cure' us so to speak, as in make us stronger than we were before. We each end up with something slightly different." ☁ With Eli dead, it's back to the four of them. They set out to find the camp he'd mentioned, but they could have never imagined what it actually was. They've discovered national secrets that could kill them. With the help of another group of four ragged teenagers, they have to find a way to complete the impossible task of freeing the camp without losing their heads in the process. Follow each of them as they discover who they are, who they love, and more of their country's secrets than they could ever dream of in a thrilling trilogy told from all five points of view.

Welcome to the future, written in the past. A mutant plague has rendered part of the population as zombie-like humanoids. They have a conscious mind though, but their craving for brains is a bit of an antisocial issue. Being mostly made up of impoverished individuals, it is not surprised that they got cured cheaply and lastly, despite being the main test subjects. Lochlyn is their representative. She just wanted an education beyond elementary school. A little luckier stricken part of the infected population evolved into reverents. Reverants have a feudal system over the zombies to "keep them in order". The luck may have had to do with them being upper-class when being treated. Basilica is their representative. At eighteen, she wanted body modifications, a job, and etc... as a rite of passage entering adulthood. At least that's what she was thinking. The more she was told no, the more she wondered what she could do. There are still uninfected humans left in the U.S.A. Most of them are middle-class. Katrina is their representative. She gained a family member, but lost two. She aches to find out why she can never return home again. The three eighteen-year-old females, along with their beaus, journey for truth, equality, justice, restoration, love, and freedom lead them to the same end: the capital. The New World has been the last peaceful and resourceful country for nearly two hundred years. Or at least that's what they say. Samantha Ivory has been living a boring average life in an old town with lots of history. That is, until the news of a carnival coming to town ignites new excitement. This carnival promises a night of fun for everyone. There are games, promising rewards, and food that no one has ever seen or tasted before. But what if this carnival isn't what it seems to be? And who are these people that have come into her town? Can Sam figure it out before it's too late, or will she get stuck playing a game she never wanted to play? (Currently completed as of October 2023, and finished editing as of March 2024) *****Excerpt***** Excerpt: Instead of seeing myself standing in front of me, there is somebody else and it's not my brother or anyone I know. A boy no older than me is just standing there, he is wearing a gray shirt with a hole in the shoulder and it has a handful of stains and dirt spots on it. I immediately know he is not from Treegrass. Not only have I never seen him before in my life but everyone in our town always wears nice clean and washed clothes, therefore nobody should be looking like him. The boy has a small cut on his cheek and is thin, a lot thinner than he should be. I look away from him and around at my surroundings, there is no one else here. I regain my composure and look at him again. That's when he says something that makes my blood run cold. "Run."

[ 2019 ONC ambassador's pick and ONC shortlister ] The three degrees of Danger are as follows: Denial. You pretend that it's not there and you lie to yourself that it'll pass. It won't. The second stage is evolution. You tell yourself that the worst is over but you're gradually changing inside, slowly adapting to the new environment. The final degree of Danger is succumbing to temptation. You give up listening to your fading instincts, give in to the voices in your head and you give it your all. Because the world is changing and if you don't change with it, you're dead by daylight. *** Danger is a virus that is spreading through everybody's Software. I am dying. I know this because i can feel all my senses leaving me. I can see flashes, recollections, of my past. They preen at me through my lashes. But I am calm.
