Both orphaned 11 years beforehand, in result of a minor mistake in the hands of C. O. A. P. (Capitol of all Provinces). There are 6 provinces in Karok. Province 1 is known for coal and electricity. Province 2, known for technology and engineering. Province 3, known for minerals and and education . Province 4, known for clothes and luxury .Province 5, Fishing and Lumber. Province 6, weapons and military equipment.
Every 2 years, there is a Ceremony of the Choosing, and six people from each province( 3 girls and 3 boys) are chosen to go into two separate arenas, to survive until two boys and two girls remain. From there they fight until one Victor is left, unless a special occasion occurs, then possibly two Victors will remain, if they're lucky.
