Ash King has been slowly dying on the inside. Well that's what she thinks. Her family doesn't help either with them constantly running the fact that Ash isn't really dying in her face. Her depression is eating away at her yet no one knows. The fear of going outside and dealing with people consumes her everyday. But with every silent disease, there's a silent remedy. That remedy just so happens to be her best friend, Frank Iero. She's had feelings for her best friend since she was in her last year of junior.
Now that Ash is old enough to move out, her parents decide to move across the country. Knowing she will never see Frank again, she confesses. She never expected him to reach the way he did.
