Diamond Crane hates the Mockingjay, and District 13, and the rebels, and everything they did to her. She was living peacefully in the Capitol with her mother, when they destroyed everything. Diamond isn't an idiot though; she doesn't hate them because of the rebellion. She understands that.
Diamond hates them because of the 76th Hunger Games, that they agreed to. She hates the hypocrisy of it. So when she is reaped as one of the final Tributes, all from the Capitol, because of her father's position as a former Gamemaker, she only has a few goals.
Win the Games.
Restore the family name.
And kill the Mockingjay.

When Brianna Quinn, a 15 year old from district 4, is entered into the 87th Hunger Games, she tells herself she won't kill anyone, even if it means losing. But there's something inside of her, something she won't admit is there. Suzie is just a normal girl from district 2 whos family has died because of the cruel Capitol, and all she wants is to do is be with them again. She figures the best way to finally be with her family again is to volunteer for the hunger games. Then someone else could kill her and she wouldn't have to kill herself. Also her father was in the games and she wanted to make him proud. So she comes up with a plan to go around all the districts gathering different types of skills and once she gets back to district 2 she will volunteer. Making her father proud was the thing she loved to do the most. Her father was her idol. But she doesnt have to volunteer. Suzie Timmer thought she would never get chosen at the reaping because she is not apart of any of the districts except district 2. But the Capitol figures out her plan, they figure out what she has been doing, so they purposly pull her name out at the reaping in district 4...
