After their first and second stops on their journey, Electra Matthews and Celestine Stardust, leaders of the Sky Tribe, decided to join him on his journey. Later they reveal that them joining was all part of the King's plan and that he cared for his children more than they thought. The quest is a rough one and the five go against many challenges, staged or accidental, it all happened. There are a fair bit of Celestine and Alexander moments in the story, if you get what I mean.
