Science Fiction contest. Challenge 23 "If You Die, The Earth Lives... " November 2015.  On the brink of extinction, mankind uses reverse psychology to make a last second plea to an alien named Klaatu to stave off human extermination on Earth. 

Based on the 2008 movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still," written by David Scarpa and Edmond H. North, with reference to the 1951 original movie of the same name written by Edmund H. North, and the 1941 short story "Farewell to the Master" by Harry Bates.
