The soldiers drag me out of my room, bloody and bruised, to lead me out of my palace. They force me onto my knees, showing to all of my citizens and friends that no one could escape their justice. I stare at the polished marble surface, contemplating my options. Looks like they finally caught me, and I don’t have a plan B. I could hear the soldiers mumbling above me; my eyes narrow at their scratchy voices.
One of them grips my chin roughly and jerks my head up.
“Look up, rat!” He barks at me.
I glare at him, my blood red eyes glinting with murderous intent.
But I am getting ahead of myself. Let me rewind a bit.
