What could possibly go wrong? ***** She is Ember. A closed-off and secluded girl with far too many secrets - one being that she's a supernatural mythical mix of a Phoenix that she is desperately trying to control. As her abilities develop, it feels like she's running out of time to control the Phoenix before the fire breaks loose and hurts someone she loves. He is Theo. Equally secretive yet far better at hiding it, this cocky American showed up from nowhere and now seems to be everywhere. The fact he's a werewolf just complicates things further. Hunters are chasing Theo from America to the UK, under the alleged claim that he brutally murdered his pack - a bloody yet unlikely accusation. As much as Ember wants to help Theo, she's fighting her own battles, and the two have to figure out their on-and-off relationship first. In this deceitful world of supernatural and normal humans, outsiders threaten Ember, Theo and their friends - both old and new. Can this group of supernatural teens be brought together by their desperation? Or will they forever be in conflict? Both Ember and Theo are playing a dangerous game with fire, and it's impossible to know who might get burned. Broken Compass Year

15 parts Complete Mature

It's the year 2008, and sixteen-year-old Royce Fontaine is looking forward to a long summer vacation alone with his siblings. If by 'looking forward' you mean 'totally dreading', that is. Their island is abandoned, and abandoned islands tend to be boring. Three months of boredom tend to make siblings fight, if for no other reason than to have something to do. So when things get weird and his father offers up a prospective vacation -- a real one, off the island and without the odious presence of his older brother -- Royce finds himself thrilled at the possibilities. New places, new people who don't know him as the pathetic geek that he is, maybe even a summer fling, provided he manages to find a way to get girls to notice him. It seems as if he can't lose. But then his father asks for his help carrying the load in the household, and he finds himself unexpectedly dealing with some consequences -- not of his own actions, but of his father's. Cast adrift in the multiverse, it falls to Royce to protect his younger sister in a fight for survival with nothing but his wits and a broken compass. Book 2 in a series about a family struggling to come together against powerful forces with a vested interest in keeping them apart.
