Finding the Road

In his mind, because nobody has ever been around to tell him otherwise, Mitch was a god-awful parent. But still, his daughter - even with her tattoos, and her guy's haircut, - was his greatest achievement to date, and he loved her to death.

Meanwhile, Lori is content with life; she's days away from marrying her childhood sweetheart, she's on her way home from tour number nine of Afghanistan, and she and her girlfriend have just found a new apartment. However, serving in the Marines is a risky game to play, and when everything goes wrong, she's alone, miles from home, and suffering from a severe spinal injury which spells the end for her career and her livelihood.

Mitch and his daughter have had an inexorable bond since the day he came home from Vietnam and met her; they've witnessed each other at their highest and their lowest, and they've seen one other through to the other side. But when she hits the bottom, can he save her from herself this time?
