Malena grew up in a town filled with lies, gossip, and rumours. So, when she gets the word she can leave, she jets out of there faster than the mothers of the town can say, "Pie?" She arrives in a new place, expecting the complete opposite of her old town, but quickly learns not much has changed - her attitude being the exception. Malena has decided to take a stand, and fight for herself, but perhaps her actions will anger more than just her rivals.

Rosemary Anne Barns--now 16--is living her life day by day. Her story isn't exactly similar, nor different, than her mother's story. Rosemary is just like any other girl surviving the drama of high school. She has her arch enemy, she likes a boy, and she has a job. She's a giving girl who works for her money and doesn't know about Zack. She does know that Garrett isn't her real dad. (Yes, Maddison ended up marry Garrett when Rosemary was 4). As Rosemary gets through high school, she discovers that Aden--the boy she likes--isn't who she thinks he is. He is a "demon" who has the ability to blaze and has almost uncontrollable night instincts. But one night, as she goes to Aden's to forgive him after a fight, a friend of hers, shows up and takes everything from her--see how her and her mother's stories are similar now? But Rose stays strong and moves on with her life, without being a teen mom--and that's how the stories are different.
