It's been 20 years since a killer infection spread throughout the world. It turns you into a bloodthirsty killer, who goes through different stages of the infection. You kill to survive, and that's for both the dead and the living. You become infected when you are bitten or if you inhale the spores that take over the air.
Ellie and Logan are surviving in this world together. They have been since it first started. When Ellie learns from the leader of a survival group, the Blackbirds, who focus on taking down the crooked army that control America and finding a cure to end this infection, she learns that her father, who she thought died when this all started, is still alive and is part of the Blackbirds.
Ellie is forced to make a deal to find her father. Ellie and Logan are then forced to travel around America to find her father.

In the words of a great philosopher; there is no limit to the gruesome and grotesque things we are willing to do in the name of survival. While reading this; Remember that not everything is as it seems. Remember that loved characters will die. Remember that the world will gradually get worse as the parts go on. Take a moment to ask yourselves these questions: What would you do in the name of survival? Would you steal to survive? Would you kill to survive? Would you lose your mind to survive? If you lost your mind, do you think you'd kill more, steal, injure, backstab, rape or any other atrocity you can think of? If you can think of it, then maybe you would. The characters and situations in this book are very real, if gore or horrific mental images scare you, then I wouldn't recommend reading far. DESCRIPTION: The Infection claimed the lives of over 3 billion people before the TV's went off. But it would claim many more. Rebecca Alingston decides to forcefully transform Dillon into a super robot which will be known as H.O.P.E. As part of her plan, Hope will save humankind and Earth, then later in the future will save her. After the transformation Hope turns out to have a partial amnesia and doesn't remember about his past person. Now he will try to find out who he is and why is he programmed to save humanity.
