Nine teenagers have been granted a trip to a mountain lake house in Michigan and are planning to have the time of their lives together. However, one of their friends has other plans...

So this was written over the course of the month of October 2015 as a writing challenge. If you would like to know more about the challenge, read on:

So, the challenge is basically circled around finishing a COMPLETE story within the span of a month. You only have the days in the month, and you cannot plan or start writing before the first day of the month. You also cannot finish before the last day, so you must span your time out wisely (or just write the last two words on the last day, whatever floats your boat). If, however, you do NOT finish the book by 12 AM on the last day of the month (so in October's case 12 AM on Halloween), you have to kill off your main character(s).

This story is classified as a "horror" story but is honestly more horror/drama.

On the flip of a coin, people die around Sin. Escaped from a lunatic asylum and haunted by his dead sister, he must find out why, and discover who is trying to use his power to destroy everything and everyone. ***** Dead, dead, dead. Say it enough times and it becomes just another word. What would you do? Could you kill a killer? Does the death of one appease the deaths of a hundred? What about that hundred against a thousand? What if you had no choice? Meet Sin. No, not that sort of sin, but Sin, crazy as a loon (you ask Sister Moon), and proud of it. Sin locks himself away in an asylum and, every so often, badboy he's believed to be, gets violent. That's only so they'll give him those nice drugs, though. The ones that help him forget. It's a pity they don't work. Sin, you see, has a serious problem. Well, it's not so much his problem, as ours - yours, mine and everyone else's. People die around Sin. He doesn't like it and there's nothing he can do about it. But someone else knows, and Sin has to stop them... and himself... Flip and catch... -- WATTY WINNER!! After uncovering a sinister ritual in an abandoned factory, Jay and his friends are the only hope to save their small town from the supernatural forces brewing there. Season 1 of Mezzanine ***** When Jay moves to Sycamore Falls at the beginning of his senior year of high school, the last thing he expects is suddenly developing the ability to read minds. As if knowing everyone's darkest thoughts isn't bad enough, things get worse when Jay finds a group of cloaked figures-seemingly brainwashed-taking part in a strange ritual within an abandoned factory at the edge of town. Along with Carter, his only friend, and Lola, the mysterious girl he can't help but be drawn to, Jay investigates. As the group unravels the secrets of the factory and their town, they find themselves in danger from the sinister supernatural forces that might have been best left undisturbed forever.
