Eliza has always drawn the short straw since the day she was born. One blow after the other until she finds herself wrapped up in arson and organized crime. But can love help her escape this life?
------------------------------------------------------My gaze locked on the bonfire. I imagine myself rising on the flames, tangled in their jealous dance. Hope and courage mixed together in a sea of embers.

"What are you thinking about?" His voice drifts through the smoke.

"I'm scared, Noah. One day I'm going to burn myself. I am the fire, wild and careless, and I still manage to burn myself. I keep hurting myself. I'm scared." A whisper drifting through the wind, but somehow Noah still hears me.

"Don't be scared, love. You have me to keep you safe."
I know he'll protect me. He always will...

"But I'm only going to burn you."
The thought escapes through my lips.

"No you won't."
That's when I run.
