Welcome to Caliatha, the only place on Earth that contains breathable air after World War 4. In 2304, scientists found a way to inject technological DNA into your bloodstream. It would then transfer you to Caliatha where you would become your own avatar, changing anything about your status before entering. Finally, Joelle Adams turns 16, and is able to get tested for entry into Caliatha. You see, in order to get in, you must have amazing scores on your gaming record that was taken throughout the torturous school years. She has been dreaming of the time she would finally be able to go into the actual game world. What she doesn't realize, is that once you go to Caliatha, there's no going back. The saying, "all fun and games till someone gets hurt" doesn't apply to the virtual land. When you run out of lives you become invisible, non-existent, to Caliatha, to the world. No one can see, hear, or feel you. Loneliness and depression cause the "Losers" to commit suicide after Game Over. When Joelle enters Caliatha, all of this is revealed to her, but yet, she discovers she has a talent that no other has ever known of, in Caliatha.

People born with this gene are called "Conduits", or Bio-terrorrists if your in the majority who hate them. Conduits are viewed as monsters who only bring evil to the world, and are captured by the "Department of Unified Protection" or "D.U.P" for short. The D.U.P takes these conduits to a prison known as Curden Cay Station and do God knows what to them. So you can imagine that finding out one day that you are one of these conduits would be an extremely bad situation to be in, and unfortunately for our freshly graduated main protagonist, he is about to find out just how dark this world can be. With the death of his lover at the hands of a conduit during their escape from the D.U.P, will our protagonist fall to his anger and seek vengeance for his lover's death?
