Melanie Riggs was twenty-one and was having the time of her life. Unlike most people though, she is a Contractor, humans with special abilities. Even though she is a Contractor she works for a private organization called the CCSA who hunts and kills rogue Contractors, just like her. While trying to keep the CCSA under her radar and trying to figure out how Contractors got put into this world, Melanie meets fellow Contractors, who the CCSA are so keen on destroying.

She thought she had everything planned out by choosing the CCSA years before, but she didn't plan on meeting The Black Reaper. The Black Reaper is a rogue Contractor who is trying to tell Melanie something by seducing her without even taking off his mask, literally. With the CCSA on his tail and The Black Reaper constantly around Melanie, she will have to make a decision that will change the world for the better or worse.

With her unique abilities, her crazy attitude, and her vicious enemies waiting around every corner, she will be taken on a journey that she will never forget or probably even survive.
