Kodie was never considered special. Only called a freak and a mistake. She moves from orphanage to orphanage, hoping that the trail of disasters stops at the last town. She wishes to be unique, to be accepted. And then one day, she is.

But not without a price. With the help of a new and unusual group of friends, she escapes from the Black Star, an elite group of people who would use her to tear apart reality. Now she needs to find the others like her, people who can do amazing and terrifying things, before the Black Star. But how can Kodie stop the single most powerful force in the world when also trying to uncover her past, buried under a web of lies and secrets?
