Many people use the phrase "They say" as a conversation starter. But, what they don't know, is just who "They" are. The people who use the phrase "They say some mysteries are better left unsolved" don't realize that within that sentence is another one: They are unsolved mysteries. And although I admit that Jack the Ripper was a world changing phenomenon of an unfinished story... I would say that They are in first place. They are an unfinished sentence on the last page of a novel; leaving the reader forever questioning how it ends. Sometimes, I wish I had stayed a wondering reader, I would have been able to write my own ending the way I wanted it. But, the curiosity in me won over and what I discovered was life changing.
