From a young age Rin Atreli has always been a little bit of a dreamer. When her father and his merchant crew would come home from their adventures, at the end of the day they would all sit down around the campfire, Dragons curled up near by and tell these impossible stories about flying Islands and people as tall as Redwoods. Rin would always sit by her father and listen, never turning away afraid she might miss even the tiniest detail.
It was when she was around 7 that the stories stopped. So did the adventures and the campfires.
But even though everything was gone, even her father, the dreams stayed. And no matter how many times they told her to give it up, she never could. Rin was determined. She was going to be the best Ryder and no one was ever going to stop her. Rins goal was to reach a sky that no one had ever seen before. And maybe have some stories of her own.
This book is about the journey she and her Dragon, Airu took to get there and all the other people she dragged along for the ride.
