Kian turns 15 this year, and he's just lost his dad to kidney cancer, so he's going to write a diary in honour of his father, Keith. He now has to put up with his abusive mother Helen and her new drunk boyfriend Frank. As Kian uncovers his fathers' past and records it in his little book he realises what marvellous things his father left behind for him to honour, he writes the diary and in hope that one day his little sister Tanya will read it and know how amazing her real father was.
