I could hear the soft sounds of the forest around me and could hear another sound as well I focused on it. one no two sets of footsteps slowly creeping in closer to me as I lean against the tree with my eyes closed and my bow notched ready to fire at whoever it is as I am clenching my teeth in pain as my ankle is pulsing in pain still. I hear a snap of a twig and a whispered curse in the bush ahead of me. "who's there" I manage to shout with a hint of pain in my voice and my arrow aimed at the bush that is now being pushed to the side as a young guy steps through but freezes when he sees my arrow pointed at him.

I shuddered. It had never been so dark, nor so quiet before. There was always the light of the moon to guide me. The sound of the wind against the trees. I shook the thought from my mind and continued further into the wood. Then I saw it. A white light spread across the ground in front of me. The clouds had parted from where they were, revealing the moon at its fullest. I stared in awe. It had never been so bright. The ambiance began to come back. The wind began to dance with the trees. I closed my eyes. The scent of oak filled my nose and exhaled through my mouth. The aroma filled me with exhilaration. It filled me with something I couldn't explain. I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time. Although it was something I wasn't used to feeling, I craved it deeply. I felt happy. I felt as if nothing else mattered than this moment. I opened my eyes. Everything seemed clearer. I could see the particles of dust flying in the beam of light that shone around me. I wanted to stay here for longer. I wanted this moment to last forever. Until I saw the wolf. It was hidden among the fold of trees behind me. It stared at me in aggravation. It's brows furrowed in my direction. It's face, livid with anger, revealed a set of unpleasant and sharp teeth. It began to move slightly forward. The wolf bounded towards me. It happened so quickly I had no time to react. It's limbs outstretched. It's teeth bared. My body, paralyzed from fear, refused to move. My lip quivered, urged to call for help, but no help would come. I was too deep into the woods. No one would hear my screams. The thought was soon interrupted by the wolf's teeth digging into my side.

"I'll have a whiskey and the lady will have a shot." A very tall man appears right beside me with a curly dark lock of hair resting above his brow that reminds me of Superman. His nose slopes down straight like a Grecian sculpture. His voice is cool and bares a strange accent I've rarely heard, the vibrations of which tickle my ears. There is a sudden minty aroma emanating from his being, which subconsciously makes me straighten my shoulders and hike up my chest. The undead bartender nods his head profusely and noticeably shakes while he pours out our drinks. He hands them over, spilling a bit of mine on account of his trembling hands. "Alpha," he says as he bows his head. Guess I shouldn't be surprised an Alpha is out here enjoying the supernatural club scene. But when he turns his head and flashes a pair of blue and black mismatched eyes at me, my stomach drops. The black Alpha eye. ----- Astrid Lee is a tiger among wolves, having lived her whole life in the Silver Bow pack. But when the Lycan Alpha, Rio Xenakis, declares her as his destined mate, she thinks nothing of it. Until, Bianca Greywood, the daughter of Silver Bow suddenly goes missing and Rio remains the only person Astrid can turn to. Together, they journey to find Bianca and discover that ancient sinister forces may be at play.
