Kristen Swan used to be an ordinary girl. Not special at all and she was happy that way. But after her parents were brutally murdered, she ran away to America so she could avoid the orphanage and being killed herself. After a few years on her own she decides to seek out the Masacrade Ball, a dangerous group of criminals that she believes will make her stronger so she can take revenge on the person who killed her family. She succeeds and is taken in but not in the way that she hoped. The MB's Alpha, Shadow or as everyone calls him First, takes her in as his maid after she announces that she wants to be part of his elite team. This team consists of him and his Beta, Second.
As Kristen gets closer and closer to the elites, she starts to uncover things that would better remain covered. To make things worse, she finds herself starting to fall for First. She sinks deeper and deeper into the river of secrets. Will she be able to get out or will the Masacrade Ball's secrets destroy her before she does?

Every year for the past hundred years, there has been a masquerade ball that was held where all wolves found their mates, in particular, Alpha Landon, a twenty-three year old that is the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack. He is feared by many and admired by most. His family are the richest and high in the council.
