Mistresses of rulers are often overlooked, even ridiculed for seemingly only providing their body to their lover, but a mistress can persuade her King with more than just her body, her words can also persuade him into doing her will.

Ife, a young Egyptian girl with the title of Lady Of Isis (a rank arguably as important as a Pharaoh), is Ptolemy XII "Auletes"'s only mistress. As long as she is close to him, nobody can lay a hand on her. Her first two years as his mistress is filled with passion, immense wealth, and love. However, nothing golden can stay.

Her world slowly crumbles as her lover is forced to flee the palace as three assassination attempts on his life fail their goal. To make matters worse, his two eldest daughters, Tryphaena and Bernice declare themselves the rulers of Egypt and denounce their father as a traitor to the crown.

As Ife's secret letters to her lover are discovered, she is thrown into the dreaded dungeon and is sentenced to be executed. She narrowly escapes with the help her allies, Ptolemy's younger daughters, Cleopatra and Arisonë.

She is faced with many trials along the way as she attempts to be reunited with her lover, and being pregnant with his twins only make it more difficult to conceal her identity.

Does love truly conquer all? Or will the only pure thing in the world succumb to the dark side?

Anna of Achaea was the daughter of King Physcon and Cleopatra. Her beauty had been told through all of Greece as many had wished to bed her. She was strong of heart, often being called "Ánna i léaina" by her men. Since the fall of the Sasanian Dynasty nearly 6 decades prior, a young general had been rising through the ranks. Many had believed Mark Antony was a great general, one who took pride in his victories and always sought vengeance for his defeats. Anna and Mark knew each other very well from prior encounters, they both served under sister kingdoms and had stood in for their kings for peace accords. Anna hadn't ever liked Mark, he had a sharp tongue and an outdated belief about women. One night the tides of battle change, Mark sets out an army against Annas' in the dead of night as they pass through a neighboring area. He feigns ignorance, claiming the light of the moon distorted their flag and he had been sure it was that of the Geraki. Anna knew better. Her advisor and lifetime friend, Sebastian, warned they should make haste for Achaea. He feared Mark was planning to do something horrible to her and knew that they were safest there. Impenetrable walls overlooked the sea, from their outposts they could see as far out as the city-state of Athens. But Mark had other plans. ---- Please note, this is a fantasy. (Highest Ranking: #108 in Historical Fiction) Was a featured story on the Ides of March. Disclaimer: I don't own the characters from Night at the Museum. Also admittedly some of the stuff that is written is a little problematic. I retain full responsibility of the problematic writing and I apologize if it causes hurt or seems insensitive, it was not my intention at the time of writing merely a reflection of the bad influences from the books I had been reading as a young teen. I am trying very hard to make this book more politically correct in my other drafts as do I do not want other people to normalize toxic, homophobic and sexist tropes/ideologies and beliefs through their reading.
