Maxine Connors lives in a world where video games rule the world. Almost every person on earth is named after video game characters and they spend way too much time playing games. The most popular of the games is 'A Game of Games' which is a game that is becomes way too realistic and is full of references to every video game ever created. One day, there's some sort of glitch and no one is able to log off. People who die also die in real life.
Every player is trapped in this virtual reality, including Maxine.
