Kay lives a normal, seemingly perfect life. Well, that is, until aliens invade. In this world, the idea of aliens was cast out by religion. The aliens are called Crusades, as their main objective is to take inhabitants of planets and build armies, and capture planets. Meanwhile, they bring the Blue Plague with them. In this plague, red flakes appear in your eyes, you cough blood, a blue mark appears on your chest, then over time you system slowly shuts down, usually you spend six months in misery. Kay, however, is immune. Her sister catches the mysterious plague, and her best friend is taken and gets a wrist harness, an eel like creature that wraps around you wrist and controls you, and becomes high in the ranks of the Crusades. How will Kay survive, save her sister, and stay sane?

I don't know if I died or not, but the moment I regained my consciousness, I was already standing on a field full of grass and surrounded by trees. "W-what is that...?" A screen was floating in front of me. 「 Welcome, new adventurer! 」 "Adventur...rer?" But..... I'm so small! My body is the size of a 9 year old kid! And I don't even know what the hell happened to me. After I read some information on the screen, I was amazed that the world I was in was like a VRMMORPG. Magic exists and so does the level. "Huh?" April 22 I've been walking for days, they're still tracking me though. i sleep high in the trees, I double back, walk in the river, cover my tracks, start false trails...it's all slowing me down but it's really the only chance I have. I'm on foot. I'm alone. The day the grid went down I was in the mountains and I stayed put for over a month, unable to contact anyone. The electricity is out, the phones don't work, no running water, no cars, no radio...nothing. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages.
