A wartorn country on the verge of peace. For the first time in three hundred years, the Witchlands have ceased their fighting. The Council of Seven has been reformed and the non-magics, Nulls, have it worse than ever before. An organization has risen up, angry and hellbent on vengeance, and they've set their sights on Commander Genevieve Quinn, youngest witch in generations to command her fiefdom's army. Is a witch without magic still a witch? Genevieve has been betrayed. At the mercy of a man she can't put a name to, she must follow his orders if she ever hopes to regain her rare breed of magic and reclaim her position. Both hunter and prey, Genevieve is a key player in a game she doesn't know the rules to and her ignorance might just cost her more than she's willing to loose.

In a world where the mother tongue is not only banned but its use results in a grotesque, magical punishment, the Voiceless must ensure they are somehow still heard. The brutality inflicted upon the conquered peoples by the new regime has left the once peaceful land of humans and spell-folk with an unending dread and fear of showing any sign of their proud traditions. In the turmoil since the overtaking some thirty years before, a creature has been preying upon the Voiceless, growing in strength and even threatening the new regime with a possible invasion of its own. At every turn, the Voiceless find their tentative place in the world further threatened and their history and culture being torn further and further away. A little courage from some of the smallest victims of this ongoing war could be the difference between a return to peace and the erasure of their people.
