Tanny Carmichael is a biracial seventeen year old living a privileged life in Lagos, Nigeria. On the outside, her life appears picture perfect. But things are not always what they seem. Tanny has a secret that she's never told anyone. She hears and sees things others don't. And has spent the better part of her life pretending they aren't real. However recently, her hallucinations have increased in their frequency and intensity.

On a school field trip, Tanny finds herself and Abi abducted into a magical world, where they are joined by Sheni and the ever popular Kemi. Together with her friends and arch enemy, Tanny begins to learn the truth about who she is and what is expected of her. She has to learn to trust and overcome her fears. She must find a way to defeat a vengeful goddess while trying to stay alive and of course save the world.

The Prince has always done his duty and followed the instructions given to him by his mother the Goddess Oya unquestioningly. Always......that is until he meets Tanny. She is everything and nothing like he expected and for the first time in his existense he makes choices which lead to discoveries that threaten the one he seeks to protect and the very fabric of the world.
