Former Junior Hall Monitor, minimum-wage waitress and passionate Mexican folk dancer, Penny Sanchez knows how it feels to get the short end of the stick. With a best friend who's too busy swapping gum with her on-and-off-again boyfriend, a sister with a serious ego, and a mother who refuses to listen to anyone except a paying customer, the only person Penny can trust is her 80-year-old adrenaline-junkie Nana. To make things worse, Penny has been asked to lead her "Ballet Folklorico" band of misfits to National Finals, the closest any American Folk Dancer has ever gotten to the Championship title. Mari is heartbroken, but she meets Seunghyun, Jiyongs' older, more mature, and very attractive cousin. Jiyong chases Mari, telling her that what she saw was a misunderstanding. And as she falls for him more, she realizes that maybe he's just doing it to spite his older cousin, who also shows an interest in her. Does Jiyong truly care about her? Or is he just using her? When she goes to leave, her mask falls off when she turns around. Nathan picks it up, and runs after her, but it's too late, because she's gone. The next day, Nathan tries to find the girl he danced with the previous night, by asking all the girls at Allenwood if it was their mask. Little did he know, that his last choice was Selena. Will Nathan stop bullying her, or will he bully her more? Will her step-mother find out that she left the house? Will Selena get pulled out of Allenwood? What will her step-mother do to her?
