Gemma Stewart just transferred to a new school for her senior year. Having pushed ahead of her class, she'll be a year younger than her peers, but that doesn't bother her in the least. She's not looking to make friends anyway--this year is only about her future. As a competitive swimmer and Olympic hopeful, she's determined to make her dreams a reality, even if it means forsaking the usual high school experiences.

Nevertheless, Gemma finds herself drawn to a mysterious boy with glowing eyes. He's handsome, talented, and her heart races whenever he's near.

Soon though, she realizes there's something off about him; one minute he's playful and alluring, the next, volatile and angry. Knowing that he'd only be a distraction to her swim training, she tries to stay away from him. Fate however, is not kind to those who resist her plans.

Before long, Gemma is treading dangerous waters which will test the limits of her determination and the strength of her courage as she struggles to make the hardest decision of her life.

But most difficult of all is harboring a secret crush on your twin's best friend for three years. Sofia Durant is having the worst last weeks of high school she could have ever imagined, especially after failing two classes and having to take summer classes in order to graduate. So when Adrian Carter, the star of the college soccer team in Madrid unexpectedly asks her out on a date, she thinks her bad streak has come to an end. But things take a turn for the worse and after an unspeakable night she wishes she could forget, flees to London to live with her older brother Leo. Eight months pass before she finally has the courage to come back home and resume her life, only to find that things are a whole lot different now and she's not the only one who has changed.
